How To Quit Smoking Using Hypnosis
This article explains some of the characteristics which makes it problematical for smokers to quit smoking. By taking notice to the different aspects of smoking cessation, it’s possible to use hypnosis to work with the unconscious mind, to get a painless and more pleasant smoking cessation.
Every single smoker I know - who have not stop smoking yet - has repeatedly struggled to quit smoking. It is not simply the numerous smoking bans that encourage smokers to stop, it is as well their friends and their wallets. I remember pretty distinctly, when I was a kid how my brothers and I repeatedly asked our grandmother to stop smoking. My grandmother smoked for many years and she told us that she wanted to stop but she could not. When she lost a sister to lung cancer, who also had smoked most of her life, my grandmother stopped and she has not smoked since. How can it be that it is so demanding to stop smoking even if you want to?
I usually make a distinction between consciousness and sub consciousness by saying that consciousness is the leader and sub consciousness is the manager. Consciousness sets the objectives, and sub consciousness is the engine that makes sure that the goals are reached. When that the sub consciousness sets the practices and lifestyle it can be complicated to change them with will power and the power of consciousness alone.
There are quite a lot of aspects of smoking, which makes this trickier than other habits. The primary is nicotine. It has been recognized that nicotine is addictive and makes your body dependent, but regardless of that, the nicotine is rather fast to leave the body if you can stay smoke-free for only a a small number of days. Are you aware of if you derive the concentrated amount of nicotine that is in only one cigarette, and injected it straight into the veins of a horse, it would go to meet its maker. It is not a substance I would like to fill my body with even in the slightest amount.
I know numerous smokers who have been smoke-free in several weeks or even months and then returned to cigarettes. After that long, it is not nicotine craving that is the problem. The social aspect of smoking is also an imperative factor. When a large assembly of people who have never met each other for the first time, it’s often smokers who gets familiar only since they have this joint vice. I find this characteristic of cigarettes very constructive, regrettably, is not positive enough to balance the risky effects smoking has on both the smoker and his or hers acquaintances. Richard Bandler - co-creator of NLP - illustrates in one of his books a session he had with a man who wanted to stop smoking. After a single treatment, he was a non-smoker, but he started to have difficulties in his marriage. Bandler called both the man and his wife in, and after having watched them in the waiting room, he realized that it had something to do with cigarettes. Smoking had been a joint thing they had, and since he no longer smoked, he did not participate in the joint activity. He preferred not to be anywhere near her when she sat in the kitchen and smoked her cigarettes, which they had done previously and talked during the smoking. This facet is quite important when you need to stop smoking. There is not much fun in quitting smoking, if your partner continues to smoke, neither for you or your partner.
It happens also that people are being pressured to stop smoking - just like we tried to push my grandmother. It may prove an impossible mission to use hypnosis to stop smoking, if it’s not your own desire to stop smoking. Hypnosis is not manipulation as someone still thinks. You can’t get people to do something they would not, otherwise we could just hypnotize all the criminals to stop crime, but regrettably it is not that simple. However, hypnosis and hypnotherapy is a great tool when you are ready to quit smoking. Several smokers believe that it will be a hell both physically and mentally to quit smoking, but hypnosis can be used to ease withdrawal symptoms and remove the beliefs you have learned yourself, about how it is to stop smoking. If you imagine that it will be very strenuous, then it will probably be very complicated.
Your hypnotherapist should also help make sure that your habit of smoking is not replaced by another bad habit, but instead results in a greater comfort for you and your acquaintances. Nobody would like you to be a non-smoker who was irritable or depressed.
If you after reading this article want to hear more about stopping smoking and hypnosis, so I suggest that you contact a hypnotist in your area or on the Internet and give him or her a call.
